Be among the first to see The Girl with Big Feet, a new film by award-winning director Karin Lee.

Set in Barkerville during the Gold Rush, this poignant short film follows 7-year-old Foo-ling as she resists the traditional practice of foot binding in her new country Canada. Caught between her mother’s expectations for future marriage prospects, Foo-ling must prove that having big feet is the only way for her to shape her own path for a better future. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

Karin Lee 李嘉慈 is an award-winning writer, director, and producer whose films explore gender,sexuality, and the Chinese diaspora. A fourth-generation Chinese Canadian based in Vancouver, her work includes Made in China, Incorrigible, and Girl with Big Feet. She taught film, history and Asian Canadian studies at UBC and SFU.
