Africa Centre is hosting the 17th annual Africa Day Gala on Saturday, June 21! It's going to be an unforgettable night at the Alberta Ballroom in the Edmonton Expo Centre, where over 450 guests will gather for a celebration filled with culture, delicious food, awards, and entertainment.

This year’s theme, "Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future," recognizes the invaluable contributions of different generations within the African-descent community.

Throughout the evening, we will celebrate the visionaries, leaders and changemakers who have shaped our community while engaging in rich discussions with those paving the way forward. This gathering is more than just a gala—it is a tribute to our past, a recognition of our present and a commitment to our future. Year after year, we commemorate the accomplishments, resilience and vibrant tapestry of African descent culture and how it continues to shape our community.

Each generation stands on the shoulders of those who came before, building upon their successes and carrying their legacies forward. As we honour the wisdom and achievements of past generations, we also recognize the responsibility of today’s leaders and the promise of future trailblazers. Every generation plays a vital role in passing the torch, ensuring our shared history, values, and progress continue to inspire and uplift the next.
